This quilt I did for my son....I still need to sew under the binding but I thought I would post it anyway...

That's all for now...Hopefully I will have more to post soon...

Quilt Retreat

So we had our annual quilt retreat again and Katie came out to go to it and we had a blast. I was really worried about taking Kaylee worried she'd cry the whole time and disturb the ladies but she was a perfect angel. People were even saying they didn't even know she was there! The place we got was a little smaller this year and we had 35 women there so it was packed. Katie and I got by the fire place again and it was perfect, Katie will have to post some pic's.
These were some place mats that I made, they are so simple and fun to make you can make them with jelly rolls or charm packs!!!
This was the quilt I made for Kaylee and I finished the binding at the retreat using elmers glue and sewing the binding on instead of by hand. I have to say I loved it I'm not to big on sewing it on by hand it takes me too long!!

I really had a blast and wish I could do a quilt retreat every month, I could accomplish so much it would be awesome...

I finished my quilt!

I don't know if anyone still looks at this blog, but I've been waiting to post about my quilt for a long time. I just finished attaching the binding last night. I'm so happy to have my "happy quilt" done. Even if I don't need a nap, I will be snuggling under it this afternoon!
Next up, a quilt for Brandon. My goal is to have it done before he deploys again, so I'm not in too much of a rush. I think I would like to hand quilt it for him- so I should probably get started sooner rather than later.
(The fabrics are almost all Heather Bailey, and the pattern is the BQ- it's a large lap size, and I added the border.)

Not really quilting... but

I finished a quilt, but wanted to wait until it's all quilted before posting it. In the mean time I've been enjoying smaller projects. These two are so simple. I've been enjoying whipping up these aprons for little gifts. Here are the 3 I finished this morning. It's a free tutorial that my mom found online. Here it is: http://jonag.typepad.com/stop_staring_and_start_se/2008/12/your-christmas-gift-from-mean-apron-in-an-hour.html

I've also been making these little "hooter hiders." They're the best nursing covers, and I love picking out the fabric. I'm trying to sell them... kind of... my husband keeps getting mad at me for giving them away. Happy sewing everyone!

A new year of projects...

Well I actually finished this at the quilt retreat but it was a gift for Dawn and Crystal they both had girls. I didn't want to show the picture until they got it so here it is. It was fun and crazy all at the same time I think when I make one again that I will do things a little different and it will go smother but I really do like making bags it was really fun to see how they turn out and a little addictive!!!
Here is my Christmas tree skirt that I made it different on both side I just haven't finished the binding all the way. Its fun because it matches our stockings I made last year and the table runner. I was excited that this year's moda Christmas line was the same color as last!!! I got the idea from crazy mom quilts blog but I pretty much made up the pattern!!!

This year I am determined to use my stash since its quite large, so I am trying to make things with what I have. I have a couple projects already started, this one is for Alex its called a stack & wack quilt and is quite interesting how you cut it. At quilt guild they showed us how to make it. But I need alittle help so thats on the back burner for now.

This Quilt I am so excited about I saw it on Crazy mom quilts HERE
there is a link for the pattern and this is completely from scraps. Shes got alot more done then I do but I'm just getting started and this is one of those on going projects so I'm not in any hurry.

I also have started another project I'm working on but I dont have a pic yet but I'll post it later!!Anyways I hope everyone has a great new year of creativity and inspiration.
Happy New Year
