The place we got was a little smaller this year and we had 35 women there so it was packed. I just finished attaching the binding last night. I'm so happy to have my "happy quilt" done. Even if I don't need a nap, I will be snuggling under it this afternoon!

Next up, a quilt for Brandon. My goal is to have it done before he deploys again, so I'm not in too much of a rush. I think I would like to hand quilt it for him- so I should probably get started sooner rather than later.

(The fabrics are almost all Heather Bailey, and the pattern is the BQ- it's a large lap size, and I added the border.)

Not really quilting... but

I finished a quilt, but wanted to wait until it's all quilted before posting it. In the mean time I've been enjoying smaller projects. These two are so simple. I've been enjoying whipping up these aprons for little gifts. Here are the 3 I finished this morning. It's a free tutorial that my mom found online. Here it is: http://jonag.typepad.com/stop_staring_and_start_se/2008/12/your-christmas-gift-from-mean-apron-in-an-hour.html

I've also been making these little "hooter hiders." They're the best nursing covers, and I love picking out the fabric. I'm trying to sell them... kind of... my husband keeps getting mad at me for giving them away. Happy sewing everyone!

A quick baby blanket...

I made this baby blanket for the neighbor and I added some ruffles around it, it turned out pretty cute!!! I didn't want to show the picture until they got it so here it is. It was fun and crazy all at the same time I think when I make one again that I will do things a little different and it will go smother but I really do like making bags it was really fun to see how they turn out and a little addictive!!!
Here is my Christmas tree skirt that I made it different on both side I just haven't finished the binding all the way. Its fun because it matches our stockings I made last year and the table runner. I was excited that this year's moda Christmas line was the same color as last!!! I got the idea from crazy mom quilts blog but I pretty much made up the pattern!!!

This year I am determined to use my stash since its quite large, so I am trying to make things with what I have. I have a couple projects already started, this one is for Alex its called a stack & wack quilt and is quite interesting how you cut it. At quilt guild they showed us how to make it. But I need alittle help so thats on the back burner for now.

This Quilt I am so excited about I saw it on Crazy mom quilts HERE
there is a link for the pattern and this is completely from scraps. The place was completely remodel and their was three floors. I had such a great time I was so glad Katie came it just made it so much more fun. I really miss our fun sewing days we had. Below our a couple projects that we finished. I'll let Katie talk about her's mine is the witch on the left. It's a buggy barn pattern and it was quite interesting technic in cutting and piecing. You stack all fat quarters on top of each other and cut out the witch with a pattern on top and then you move different pieces to the bottom so all of the witches are different. It took me a little bit to figure out but it turned out cute.... Its hard to tell but the witches legs are dangling. I would defenitly do a pattern like this again at least next time will know what to do.
I had other projects but they are gifts so I cant show them until I give them away so I will show them in a little bit. I'm so excited to finally have something to post on this cute blog. Thanks for letting me be one of your sisters in quilting! Late last night I attached the rest of the binding on to Claire's quilt. Thanks Natalie so much for sharing this darling pattern with me. This is from Nancy Halvorson's Winsome Baby collection- it's the "pip sqeak" quilt. I'm so happy with the way it turned out. I definitely need some more help and practice on doing hand applique, but I love doing the hand quilting!

My mom and I had fun putting this table runner together while I was visiting Boise. I did this fun fall runner. The fabrics are Moda's "Pumpkins Gone Wild." The pattern is from Heather Mulder Peterson's "Little Charmer's II." This one was my first time trying machine quilting- it was a lot easier than I expected- especially with that walking foot. My mom learned this great trick from another quilting friend: on the back of your table runner put a fabric for a different holiday or season. I put this summery juice fabric on the back- so now I can use it for more than one season!

I recently realized that finishing a project is very fulfilling. You can put it on any of your rulers and it just sticks with it suction cups. I love it, I just got it and I cant believe I didn't buy one sooner!!!

Also while I was searching on some blogs I found this SITE that had a tutorial for these cutest bag and it was so simple I had to make one and I just happened to have some fabric lying around(imagine that...) I made this is two hours thats how easy this was. I adjusted the size of it because I wanted it to be bigger it is a very versatile pattern. I also added pockets on the inside and I put the handle's in a different spot. A little tid bit though if you change the size just measure the outside piece before you sew the sides up so you have the measurements for the lining.

Also check out this SITE tutorail for cute storage cubes(scroll down to find it)!! They have really cute blog's and backgrounds so I decided to change ours up a little. It really helps to look at other peoples ideas and projects I really loved the flowers on Heather Baileys site and Simply this and that had alot of really good links to other quilt blogs. Alot of the sites are fabric designers and they have really great bright retro fabric. Anaka's treasures has a pattern of the week and she is giving away a pattern so check it out, here. Also I posted some of the projects that I have done, the pillow is a quilt guild challenge that I did we had to use only three fat quarters so I made this pillow for Alex I loved the fabric, the frogs were so cute! Then I made these baby blankets for a friends and his wife they are having twins...and a lady who just moved here is having a boy so I made one for her too. The fabric is a noah's arch fabric that is so cute!!

Projects!!

So I have been sewing and quite a bit of it. I have been practicing free motion quilting it has actually been a little less scarey then I thought.
